Hills For Everyone has released an updated version of its Wildland Fire Study. The top three most identifiable causes of wildland fires in the Study Area are: arson, automobiles, and fireworks. We are about to send out our Fall Newsletter. It will be published on our website, but if you like to have something in your hands to read and aren’t already on our mailing list, send your full name and address to us by Tuesday (10/1) to info@HillsForEveryone.org to be added.
We are finalizing our update to the Fire Study for Chino Hills State Park. Of these two causes, what do you think the most common identifiable cause for a fire ignition is in our hills? The results were: 43% arson and 57% automobile. Thanks to those that participated in our poll. Arson is the leading cause of known fire ignitions. Between 1914 and 2018, there were 151 documentable fires and 15 of those were confirmed arson!
