Cougar & Coyotes Stand Off

Sometimes you just can’t believe your eyes. Check out this standoff between a cougar and coyotes in the Bay Area (Los Gatos). There are numerous predators in the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor, but we are unaware of anything like this in our area. As a reminder, it is always important to remain aware of your surroundings in the hills (and at home–especially if you live at the wildland-urban interface)! View the ABC 7 Newsclip.

Utah’s Wildlife Overpass

Some locations allow for underpasses to connect open spaces, while others require overpasses. Check out this cool overpass in Utah that is reducing collisions with wildlife and is being used by both predators and prey! This is an option here in California for retrofitting roadways where culverts, tunnels and underpasses don’t always work.
