Esperanza Hills Moves to OC Supervisors

The Orange County Planning Commission, consisting of five members representing each of the five Supervisorial Districts in the County, considered an application by Esperanza Hills developers to build 340 homes in the foothills above Yorba Linda. After over two hours of public comment opposing the Esperanza Hills project, the Planning Commission voted unanimously that the project and the environmental documents were sufficient to recommend approval to the Board of Supervisors. New Tool Released for Fire Prediction

The Santa Ana Wildfire Threat Index (SAWTI) categorizes Santa Ana winds based on anticipated fire potential.  The tool breaks down Southern California into four geographies, outlines the areas where fires will have low (marginal) to extreme rates of growth, and current weather conditions. This product is produced by the USDA Forest Service and Predictive Services.  Check it out and bookmark the page.
