ALERT: The Goldspotted Oak Borer (GSOB) has been discovered in approximately 30 trees at Weir Canyon in northern Orange County. The trees are on regional park/reserve land but within a mile of homes. What can you do to prevent the spread? Do not buy or bring in firewood from other counties. Keep it local. The County Planning Commission was meant to review and recommend approval of the Esperanza Hills project above Yorba Linda. It seems the designation of the San Gabriel’s as a National Monument is already paying off for the local economy. Ten clean up crews and a new forest manager have been hired already, and fundraising campaign was launched and is expected to top $3M for additional resources.
