Fires, steep hillsides, and rain — a recipe for trouble? The 91 Freeway was closed this morning due to a mudslide that spanned all eastbound lanes. Reports indicate the mud came from the unstable burn areas (of Chino Hills State Park). Esperanza Hills Decision Delayed

Rules about government conduct were created to ensure the public had access to information and were properly noticed about meetings and decisions. The County Planning Commission was meant to review and recommend approval of the Esperanza Hills project above Yorba Linda. San Gabriels National Monument, Economic Driver

It seems the designation of the San Gabriel’s as a National Monument is already paying off for the local economy. Ten clean up crews and a new forest manager have been hired already, and fundraising campaign was launched and is expected to top $3M for additional resources.
