Great news!! Conservation got a boost yesterday with the preservation of B Canyon by the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority. Wildlife now have a second place to cross under the 91 freeway as the acquisition protects a linkage between Chino Hills State Park and the Santa Ana Mountains. Today we listened in on the introduction of the California Natural Resources Agency’s (CNRA) newest team member via a Zoom open house. The Governor appointed Meghan Hertel to the position of Deputy Secretary of Habitat and Biodiversity. Our own Melanie Schlotterbeck gets to work with her and the CNRA team through the Partnership Coordinating Committee and her 30×30 work. (30×30 = the campaign to protect 30% of the state’s lands and coastal waters by 2030.)
