It covers a wide variety of topics including Esperanza Hills, Madrona, the State Park entrance road and Discovery Center, trail access closures in the Puente Hills. Another new and different event to support our efforts to Stop Madrona is planned for Saturday, April 25th. This event is a Garden Tour of homes throughout Brea. Eight families have volunteered to showcase their beautiful gardens. Some feature drought tolerant landscaping – at various stages of development – while others feature resort-type atmosphere. We hope you get inspired, get ideas, and join in the fun. Tickets will be available soon. Stay tuned.
Hills For Everyone has received a challenge grant from an anonymous donor. Help us meet the challenge. For every hillside supporter that signs up as a monthly donor at $10 or more per month, the anonymous donor will donate $50 per new enrollee up to 10 individuals. There are numerous threats facing the Wildlife Corridor. We have battles, in multiple cities spanning the 31 miles of natural lands. The Hills For Everyone Fundraising Team is working on a spring Garden Tour. If you have a green thumb or know someone with a green thumb whose garden we should consider including on our Tour, please let us know by emailing us by Friday, February 20. We are looking for a diverse array of garden themes, from tropical to roses, English gardens to drought-tolerant and everything in between.
We are simply overjoyed to report that our challenge grant met with great success. Our generous and loyal hillside supporters donated $4,218 and it was matched by our anonymous donor with another $2,000. In the last five days of the year we brought in over $6,200. THANK YOU!!
