The County of Orange, at the direction of Supervisor Todd Spitzer, will host a public forum on Thursday March 5th from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Travis Ranch School in Yorba Linda. County staff will be available to answer questions about the 340 unit Esperanza Hills housing project on the hills above Yorba Linda but outside of the city limits. The property lies adjacent to Chino Hills State Park and is zoned open space thereby requiring a General Plan amendment and zone change. Residents, under the mentorship of Hills For Everyone, have held weekly rallies, placed yard signs and banners, done their homework, raised funds for an attorney and have identified a number of issues to urge denial of the project. Attendees should wear red.
Next, the Orange County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the project this coming Tuesday March 10 at 9:30 at 10 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana. We encourage you to come and wear red to express your opposition to this wasteful, destructive proposal that will add too many houses in a fire prone area.
