Final Trail Plan for State Park

In case you missed it on 12/31/20, the California Department of Parks and Recreation released the Final Road & Trail Management Plan for Chino Hills State Park. This plan illustrates what trails and roads are authorized by the park… meaning everything else is NOT authorized (they are illegal) and you shouldn’t be on it.

Reception for Secretary Crowfoot

We were honored to participate in a reception to introduce Southern California conservation non-profits to the new Secretary of Natural Resources Wade Crowfoot. The Natural Resources Agency oversees the California Department of Parks and Recreation. It was a beautiful evening among friends at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.

Wildfire and Rains Bring Blooms

Everyone recognizes that vibrant orange of the California Poppy against the green hillsides. The bloom this year could be good, great or a super bloom–time will tell. Fire and drought coupled with massive rains tend to cause a massive bloom. Chino Hills State Park Senior Environmental Specialist Ken Kietzer says with temps staying cool it helps keep the blooms. Float Parade Volunteers Needed

The City of Brea turns 100 this year and the City is hosting a parade on Saturday, February 18th.  Hills For Everyone is one of the parade entries and we’ve designed a fun park-themed float in partnership with Chino Hills State Park.  To pull it off, we need volunteers!  Specifically, we are looking for park supporters to walk in the parade as hikers, bikers, families, bird watchers, photographers, etc.  If you can volunteer for this, we’d love to have you! … Read More
