Report Reveals Human Error in Fire Response

  Interesting that multiple calls reporting the fire were dismissed. The same thing happened with the Freeway Complex Fire when area residents reported a second fire in Brea (not Corona). We hope the Orange County Fire Authority and California Highway Patrol train their personnel to respond according to protocol, so this doesn’t happen again. And, that they track red flag days better than they did for this fire. Check out the Orange County Register article.

Canyon Fire 2 Report Released

This news released at the Orange County Fire Authority Board meeting on the response to the Canyon 2 Fire is disturbing. Outside Investigation Sought for Canyon Fire 2

Many of the projects Hills For Everyone is involved with are at the Wildland Urban Interface. These locations are particularly difficult to defend, especially when Santa Ana Winds are a factor. It is helpful to have OCFA take this approach–an outside investigation–and review of its responses to the #CanyonFire2.
