Brea City Attorney Comments on Madrona Case

The Brea City Attorney explains at the January 16, 2018 City Council Meeting what his initial take is of the Supreme Court’s denial of the developer’s request for review of the Madrona project.  In short, he believes the project can’t be fixed by updating the Environmental Impact Report. We anticipate the that Superior Court Judge Moss will require the entire project approvals to be overturned by the City of Brea. View the video.

The California Supreme Court has just turned down the developer’s request for review of the Madrona Project.   Game Over.  We won. After a 17 year battle to stop Madrona, a dangerous hillside development of 162 houses deep in the fire prone Carbon Canyon area of Brea, conservationists are celebrating a final victory. At the last minute last week, acting as the trustee for the bankrupt Madrona property, the State of Idaho filed an appeal with the California Supreme Court asking it to overturn Hills For Everyone’s Superior Court and Appellate Court victories.  Please donate to support the defense of our Madrona court victory.
