Esperanza Hills Meeting, All Q’s no A’s

Hills For Everyone was an active participant in the Special City Council meeting last Tuesday night, which was supposed to be a Q&A between city staff, agencies and the public about the Esperanza Hills and Cielo Vista projects. Residents came armed with a litany of questions about process and procedure, but the City’s standard response was “We’ll look into that.” It became more of a “Q” with no “A.” Check out the article in the OC Register.

Drought Hits Home for New Developments

Governor Brown issued a mandatory 25% reduction in water use throughout the state for residential consumers as we enter the fourth year of our historic drought.  Additionally the Executive Order also outlines that to save water, the State will “prohibit new homes and developments from irrigating with potable water unless water efficient drip irrigation systems are used, and ban watering of ornamental grass on public street medians.”  As a side note, Madrona, Esperanza Hills, and Cielo Vista use well over the existing amount … Read More

Supervisors Deal Big Blow to Esperanza Hills Project

Under the leadership of Supervisor Todd Spitzer, the Board of Supervisors, dealt a significant blow to the Esperanza Hills project at the March 10th meeting. The developer failed to get permissions to build the project. Rather, he was instructed to work with the City of Yorba Linda to comply with the City’s higher standards. Last night 250 people attended the community forum with Supervisor Todd Spitzer to relay their concerns and questions to agencies about the proposed Esperanza Hills project. The County of Orange, at the direction of Supervisor Todd Spitzer, will host a public forum on Thursday March 5th from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Travis Ranch School in Yorba Linda. Sidewalk Rally

Join Protect Our Homes and Hills on Friday, January 23rd from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM for a Rally at Village Center and Yorba Linda Blvd. We will have signs available for participants to hold or bring your own sign with a message like “Stop Esperanza Hills,” “Save Our City,” or “Tell the County NO.”  These rallies increase our visibility and raise awareness of the issues.  Hope to see you there!
