This is an important article to carefully read and slowly absorb about fires (especially the myths about forest fires versus chaparral fires). Fuel reduction has been the hot topic to “keep communities safe,” but in reality, the science is showing fires in these logged areas are actually burning hotter and more intensely. One step the City of Anaheim is taking to reduce the risk of fires is using goats to remove vegetation. The City of Laguna Beach has been doing this for years and one benefit of using goats is that they can climb where we can’t and they eat about 12 pounds of biomass a day!
