Grand Jury warns against closing any of the Orange County Landfills. Brea is a “host city” with the Olinda Alpha Landfill. The contract will end in a few years and Brea may opt to renegotiate terms to the continued use and impact of the landfill and its associated operations. City of Industry Faces Massive Fines

Apparently the City of Industry is looking at nearly $6 million in fines due to damaging the environment.  City officials contend the former Mayor’s company “Zerep,” hired for a variety of tasks, did the damage unbeknownst to the City or Council and without a permit.  The City is contemplating filing a suit against the former mayor.  Hills For Everyone Executive Director, Claire Schlotterbeck, stated she hoped the audit of City docs would shed light on the system.
