New Preserve Name Revealed

In 2011 The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) purchased the Hayashi property in Brea’s Carbon Canyon. It lies adjacent to Chino Hills State Park at the juncture of Soquel and Carbon Creeks. The land was purchased as mitigation for OCTA’s freeway projects. It is one of seven preserves recently renamed through a voting contest offered by OCTA. Lands Permanently Preserved

It isn’t everyday that you can celebrate a BIG conservation achievement. In unprecedented partnerships with transportation agencies, wildlife agencies, and the conservation community Hills For Everyone and many others celebrate a major milestone 12 years in the making. Conservation Plans permanently protecting 1,300 acres of land and restoring 350 acres were finalized. This team effort deserves a few photos!

State Park Benefits From Mitigation Program

Hills For Everyone is part of the M2 Environmental Coalition working to protect additional lands through the OCTA Environmental Mitigation Program. So far, two restoration projects within and one acquisition adjacent to Chino Hills State Park has occurred. We’ll be there to celebrate the signing of the Conservation Plans tomorrow!
