Our trees are under attack by any number of little tiny pests that present big problems for their survival. According to this Los Angeles Times article, 38% of all SoCal trees are at risk of dying. Some of you have likely heard about the polyphagous shothole borer that is infecting many of our local trees. One way to stop the spread of this and other insect borne diseases is to keep your firewood local. When you transport firewood from one place to another you risk spreading the infestation.
