In an odd turn of events, the Yorba Linda City Council changed its mind on the primary access road for the proposed (and currently litigated) Esperanza Hills project. Hills For Everyone has guided the efforts of a volunteer-based group, Protect Our Homes and Hills, in efforts to stop the Esperanza Hills and Cielo Vista project. Residents mainly cite public safety, evacuation, fire, water and other environmental concerns. OC Register reporter John Drummond highlights their efforts in a recent article. Check out the article.
After another awesome speech by Leadership Team Member, Diane Kanne, requesting the Council postpone a decision until after the holidays…the City Council did just that. We expect a decision at the January 5, 2016 Council meeting.
Based on the County of Orange Planning Commission agenda, the Cielo Vista project is NOT on the Wednesday, December 9th meeting agenda. There is a possibility it will be on the December 23rd agenda or, if we are lucky, it gets moved to after the first of the year.
