Power Company Files Suit

Looks like the solar company that had been in a deal for the mega solar factory on Tres Hermanos with the City of Industry is upset at the new joint acquisition. Escrow closed on the Tres Hermanos property on February 11th between Diamond Bar, Chino Hills and Industry, but the San Gabriel Valley Water and Power Company wants a judge to issue a preliminary injunction. Industry Partner Sought for Debt Collection

The fun just keeps happening thanks to the great reporting of the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. It appears the entity, the San Gabriel Valley Water and Power LLC, the City of Industry is planning to use for its solar farm in Tonner Canyon is being pursed by debt collectors for owing $50M on other troubled past developments. Industry’s Plans Revealed in City Meeting–Solar Farm

So it is now out that the City of Industry does want to put a massive solar farm on the Tres Hermanos property in Tonner Canyon. It is so big, it could generate 10% of the electricity used by the City of Los Angeles! Apparently the City of Industry is negotiating with a Limited Liability Corporation managed by a San Diego-based housing developer. The Oversight Committee tasked with getting the highest and best use fair market value for the land–as well as residents, groups, and neighboring cities–feel like they are in the dark.
