Raids Over Industry Solar Contracts

The LA County District Attorney raided homes and businesses related to the failed solar farm planned for the Tres Hermanos land owned by the City of Industry. Generic invoices and $20 million of payouts to contractors, with little to no work to show for it, lead to the investigation. Former State Senator Frank Hills, businessman William Barkett and Industry’s former city manager, Paul Philips, were among those whose possessions were searched and/or confiscated. Industry Subpeona’s Solar Factory Developer

Last Friday, the City of Industry City Council voted to subpoena the solar factory developer (San Gabriel Valley Water and Power LLC) to provide records on how Industry’s $20 million loan was spent. So far, the City only has photos and maps, but nothing else. Apparently, the loan was contingent on actual groundbreaking, so Industry may lose every cent if the project doesn’t move forward. Edison Steps Away From Tres Hermanos Solar Project

Southern California Edison was in on the deal with the City of Industry to build the solar factory on Upper Tonner Canyon. But it appears things are unraveling. Records in the City of Diamond Bar and Chino Hills’ lawsuits are still pending from Industry…. including the documents related to Edison’s role in the deal. The plot thickens.
