Industry Stops Paying on Solar Factory Work

Lawsuits filed by the Cities of Chino Hills and Diamond Bar have the City of Industry focused on record requests and not the advancement of the solar factory itself. The factory was planned for the Tres Hermanos property (Upper Tonner Canyon) and bills submitted by the leasee have been unpaid because the City Council has yet to increase the cap beyond the original $20M. City of Industry Fires Key Staffers

The “fun” continues with the City of Industry as three “new” firings occur, including the state watchdog Bill Lockyer. “I think they wanted to silence individuals who are telling them what they should or shouldn’t do,” [Senator Ed] Hernandez said in an interview Friday. Senator Ed Hernandez, whose district includes the City of Industry, wrote a scathing OpEd in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. He had put legislation on hold that would expand accountability in the City of Industry by including additional housing, and therefore voters, within the city. Most of the housing is under City control, and those residing in it get rental rates well below market rate.  This new housing would have also been controlled by the City–completely counter to Hernandez’s goal. … Read More
