Parks are created any number of ways, but there are many more ways parklands can be threatened. Local land use plans have the ability to help or harm our parks based on policies within them. For example, Yorba Linda is proposing to approve its Housing Element via a vote of the people. Passing this Housing Element adds additional policy protections to lands adjacent to the hills because no houses will be built on those open space lands. We urge a Yes vote on Yorba Linda’s Measure JJ.
